Has anyone ever heard the old tale about Mopars and Chevrolets having interchangeable thermostat housings? I've heard that for years but I never found anyone who actually has done it. It would help me a ton on my '36 Dodge, the inlet on the radiator angles down 45 degrees and if I could use a 45 degree t'stat housing on the 360 then I'd be able to use a straight hose, rather than going thru the parts store trying every hose they have trying to find one with just the right amount of bend and the right diameter. I'm running an M1 with the larger diameter stat.

why not use the cast iron thermostat housing off of the earlier big blocks since it angles 45 degrees towards the rad?
