In the middle of a B block build for my Fury and just wanted to find out if the main bearing cap stock bolts have washers. I've looked at a half dozen different bolt sets and noticed washers with ARP sets. My short block (a '66 block) had just plain bolts, no washers. Oddly enough I have seen all kinds of bolts, but have not gotten a definitive answer to a simple question: What did they come with? It's been some 20 odd years since I've built a car engine because I started racing/building bikes. Can I get an answer please? Just my normal curiosity. If this has been covered previously and I didn't find it, I apologize and ask that you point me in the right direction. Thanks.

 

OEM: Bolts only
ARP: Use washers most of the time.

 

Thank you. I got curious because I had just got the machine work done and sent the block with the stock bolts. My million bucks worth of ARP bolts (with washers) just arrived today while I was running parts for my brother.

 

Any Chrysler I opened up never had washers, I believe that holds for other OEMs.
