on my recently purchased 318 it has the numbers; m318 11212630
im sure the first little bit is the engine, but can anyone else figure out the rest?

 

The last 8 digits should match the last 8 in the VIN of the car. If you post the VIN I can decode that and compare it to the engine #. Or is this a replacement engine you bought to put into the car and if so what did it come out of ?

 

its a replacement engine, came from a Dart, year is a 72' or 73', not 100% sure though
