it's second nature for us to check under everything we touch.

when i was changing my diff a eastern brown snake decided to move into my exhaust pipe while it was on the ground . oh just one of the deadliest snakes in the world . they are real killers . you've never seen anyone move from under a car to ontop of a car so fast . old mate got a . 22z up the bum . we have redback spiders very similar to your black widows & they seem to live every where close to the ground & especially in shoes & boots . if you meet Aussies watch us put boots on we almost always bang the heal on the ground & wait to see if something crawls out . haha you should see the Irish & pommy blokes that i work with when they see spiders & snakes haha they only have one name for all of em killers hahaha so funny .

had the exterminator come and go hog wild at the house today - now there is just a dead spider hanging from what is left of the web, i'll prolly leave it there as a warning to any other pests looking to make my ride a home. don't want to take any chances with one of those suckas surprising me again...

come on there not that bad

they only make you sick & hurt like hell but they won't kill ya . we used to breed em during the Tonga / Samoan wars about 13 years ago but never needed to use them . do you guys have baygon surface spray over there that stuff is toxic & fixes all those wee pests . i find heaps of red backs on our work sites i just leave em for the irish & pommy blokes to deal with . you know when they find em all hell brakes loose .

Actually, both black widow spiders (hence the name) and preying mantis females do consume the male after mating. Usually they rip off the head and eat the body.

Gee, I hope it was worth it!
