Sand Blasting?
My 318 has a pair of pretty rusted exhaust manifolds and i was wondering if sand blasting/painting them would be a good idea?

Sandblasting will clean them up. Not sure what to tell you to coat them with.

Find someone local that does powder coating, and have them high temp powder coated.

powder coating is baked at 400 deg. will they be ok. since the manifolds get hotter than that?

Once the high heat powdercoat sets it becomes much harder than any paint. I have used the high heat paint as well, but if you are going to that much trouble, do the powdercoat you'll be glad you did.

I think Eastwood has a product for that. http://www.eastwood.com/factory-gray...p-coating.html Its a cast iron gray. They claim 1200 deg resistant. I saw some hi-temp powder type coatings also. They claim up to 1500 deg. I guess its up to your budget.

I myself my dad and my brother have all used the eastwood manifold gray and have never had a problem with it. it works great and last a very long time. just dont shake it before you use it!
