We called it Speedway 605,
Very Cool place......
They have moved it to Pico Rivera Sports center Down By 605fwy and the 60fwy
only about a 10 min drive from the house here....

IF I had to I could walk to Pomona Raceway, about three miles. . It's Progress, they tore it down and built the Miller brewery that you see from the 210 freeway

 

Your rite........ Did you race or do any racing at Pomona back in the day?
Lot's of fun cars in that Pomona area back in the day... I lived In Altadena and Pasadena till 72 and then moved to San Gabriel Valley where I raised my family.
It has been a blast here.... Motorbike racing, car racing, boat racing, Car showing. And on and on.... But Drag Racing has always been my passion...
Also Lot of Good Speedway Biking at Orange County Fair grounds and over at the San Bernadio Fair grounds.....

 

Did the just for fun racing, Street drags at Pomona 12-14 years ago Just got too crowded.Never had the money to do it seriously.. Been to Fontana once or twice. I used to go to Carlsbad a lot ... back in the 90's with my Volare RR and and to Terminal Island, A few time to the San Bernardino Airport for races. I do NOT like the 1/8 mile races they seem to have now days. Just get started and it's over can do that on the on ramp

 

Yaaaaa... I did all that stuff also...... After OCIR (Orange County International Raceway) Closed Back in 1984.. You ether had to go to Palmdale or Carlsbad...lol
That was a long hike down to Palomar Road!!! Wasent it?
I raced at all those tracks... Rialto also...
