Tall people with classic cars

Ive been working towards getting a 3rd gen charger, which seems plenty roomy, but Im also a big fan of other mopar cars that seem a little smaller and am wondering how someone whos 6'2" or so and has long legs fits into cars like Darts, Dusters, etc.

Im planning on going to my first mopar show later this year, but Ive simply never seen, let alone ridden in, many years/models of these cars, so I dont really know what would be comfortable for a taller person. Im quite sick of my hair/head touching the upholstery in my car and the seat cant get lower without leaning me way back.

To be honest in my opinion its all about the seat. I used to own a '69 GTO and with the stock driver seat my head would hit the roof; so much in fact that I had to hunch over a bit; I'm 6'6.

I changed out the stock super high seat to a lower mount seat and all was good. If you're looking to keep the seats stock you might be cutting it real close with your height. If the stock appearance isn't an issue for you then purchase an aftermarket seat that sits lower.

I've not had any issues with leg room as I'm normally the one ripping through gears!!

I am 6'4" and hate not having leg room. So I made offset mounts out of 1.5" box steel so I could use the stock mounting holes. Now the seat in my Duster is now back 2" from stock which gives me alot of room but no leg room in back seat. But who cares, I dont ever sit in the back seat esp. in a Duster.Getting in and out is alot easier too..Bill

im 6'3 and have a duster with bench seats i have them back all the way. I feel a little cramped going to go for flusher mounts and bucket seats for the extra room.

Thanks for the info guys. I went to a car show in Whittier this past weekend and got to check out a few mopars I hadnt seen before as well, so Im feeling better about it now.

Ive also decided I might like a 1970 Charger more than 73-74, as well as liking some Darts I saw. A guy not too far away is selling a Dart that I like and hope to check out if I can get some together before he sells it.
