if anyone knows the torque specs for the intake on a 383 it would be appreciated

 

Factory, or aftermarket aluminum?

 

Working from the inside out in a "spiral" pattern, I like three pulls, first to ~30, second to ~60, and the last pull to 90ftlbs. This is the spec I use with ARP studs (Oiled) Factory bolts should be similar. Wait for someone else to chime in, this is just the way I do it, that doesn't make it "by the book".

The '69 factory manual says a final torque of 40 ft lbs.

 

40 lbs in a general star pattern i'm assuming?

 

Finesse the bolts down,yes star pattern slowly adding torque until you reach 40 ft lbs.
