Truck with 440?

Im looking to put a 440 in my 86 dodge ram W 250 with the 360 and 4 speed manual tranny. Can anyone tell me if there is big block stuff out there for this trans? I am getting the 440 out of a big panel truck so im figuring on using the motor mounts out of it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

I believe that 78 was the last year that they put BB motos in the trucks. The nice thing is, those frames did not change so you can get everything for a 78 and run it in your truck. As far as thetranny goes, you'll need a new bellhousing but from where and what else I'm not sure. Maybe Advance Adaptors can point you in the right direction.

appreciate the help guys. I was hoping all I would need is a bell housing, clutch, pressure plate and motor mounts to make it work. most of the wiring and such shouldn't be much of an issue either. I think the 440 is new enough to have electronic ignition so I should be able to just hook everything up.
Thanks again,
Dave

You will also need a larger radiator I believe. I think that the trucks with BB motor ran a 2 or 3 core radiator where as the SB motors ran the 1 or 2 core radiators. You will also need to do something about the exhaust, or at least the manifolds.

I am still tossing around some Ideas. The reason im thinking of doing this is someone is trading me the panel truck for some crap I have laying around. I plan to use the box on it as a storage shed and yank the whole drive train. If anyone is interested in any of the parts lemme know maybe we can work some thing out.

should be a 78 panel truck with 440, 727 ( I assume) trans, big dually axle (not sure type but will find out).

be careful with the tranny if you plan on using it. the larger trucks had brake drums on the tranmission and they are 23 spline. it is impossible to find a yoke for that spline. I had to buy a new transmission.
