Tunnel Ram.

Has anyone gone from a single 4bbl. To a Alcohol tunnel ram with twin 750 alcohol Carbs. And if so what were the results.

Not sure what the application is going to be for?????
Race wise have much bigger advantages too 2 four barrel carbs..
Street Driving... Not so good... Simply because alcohol burns at twice the rate of gasoline...
Alcohol does burn much cooler, Takes more time to build any heat....

Hope that kind of answered your question...

Could use a little more information, small block big block and what manifold and carbs also what are you working on?
Other than that bigger is better

It comes down to how hard you’re chasing that extra power, 300 cfm = how much power? 50 to 75 maybe if you’re an optimist.

Wow... Way more to this story.... Got a 541 and its has its tongue hanging out only running 6:30-1/8 / 9.90-1/4.... Must be in something really heavy? Or your correct its down on power... Kind of sounds like its down on Compression?
Also Does it have a Brodix or a Wilson intake manifold on the motor?

Wes, I'm going to say Yes you can gain more power with a set of dual carb... And even more so if its a blown alcohol deal..

The only thing I can think of is carb actual size, Two 750 Holley’s aren’t 1500 CFM but switching to alcohol should gain you power.

Something that’s been on my mind about going from gas to alcohol is that you’re going to be short a couple points of compression assuming that you have 11-1 now. To get the benefits of alcohol you need 13.5-1 plus in comparison.

I know if you don’t have enough compression you can lose power going from gas to alcohol, you might need to go through your short block and go with a higher compression piston, say 14-1.

I get a kick out of the internet guys, I’m thinking of Old man’s garage who run e-85 with 10-1 and think it’s the greatest, fools need to run 12.5-1 + and make some power.

Yes I am working on it now. Bought 2 used 750 pro systems Carbs. Alcohol carbs.. going through them. Have linkage on the way . Have a Weiand tunnel ram ported max wedge. Will see if it will work.

Doesn’t Indy have a nice tunnel ram? Those old manifold from the 60s and 70s were good for mid range torque but not necessarily for high horsepower.

Yes Indy has a nice one. But more than I want to spend at the moment. The Weiand is supposed to work pretty good at higher rpm. If It works good I might step up to a Indy.

Tunnel ram

I was hoping there was some with actual experience with one. I have run alk.before for 16years i n my smallblock Super Gas car. It was 2-3 tens faster then gas & deadly consistent. It was a 1050 Dominator on a single plane manifold

You might try Yellow Bullet but those guys can be *** holes if they think you’re doing something wrong. https://www.yellowbullet.com/forums/

I agree but your point of wanting someone who actually has experience with your combination would probably be there.
I will say that the only thing I have experience with in your combination is the intake on a street 440 back in the 70s, it worked great and that’s my point. It was developed in the early 70s for pro stock cars that were little more than super stock cars with a tunnel ram and two carbs. I hope your port work helps hopefully you can work on the top of the runners also.
good luck with your project it looks great
