Hi All,

I have a 74 Barracuda with a 318. I've installed an aluminum radiator with electric fans. I need to install the temperature sending unit but don't have anywhere on the block to install it. I've been looking for a water neck riser that has a port on it but all I find are for chevys. Do small block chevys have the same bolt pattern for my water neck? Or, does someone know of something else I can do?

 

Are you sure there is not a spot for the sender on the intake manifold?

 

Yes, the spot on the intake is a 1/4 used for the temperature gauge sending unit.

 

No other open spots to install the unit? like on this intake

 

I have a weiand 7510 Manifold. It is pretty bare.

 

In that case... I would move over to the Hayden Electric Fan Controller ..... >>>>>> Ecatalog (haydenauto.com)
it is adjustable to tun the fans on and off...

But if you going to stick with what you have going.... I think you will have to look at Jegs or Summit or Stef for a housing spacer or expansion housing..
Also look at Afco and Moroso....

 

I see that moroso makes water neck spacers with the ports in them but they don't list a small block chrysler or plymouth. They are all small and big clock chevys or big block plymouths. I'm wondering if a small block chevy spacer would work. I can't find the specs on them to see if the bolt holes are the same.

Aren't there sending units that fit into the radiator hose???
