My parents took me to the first race of the 65' season at Williams Grove Speedway when I was 6 months old

As I got older I realized that life begins at 100!

At 100 MPH that is!!!

I more than likely should not bring this up... BUT.....
Back in the early 2000's My brother-in-law talked me in to cutting up a 1984 Ford Ranger pick up.... We druged out one or our 350 chevy Roller motors.. Put some 13.0.1 KB pistons in it. topped off the short block with a set of then (Pro Top Line) aluminum cylinder heads, Put a eddy strip domminator manifold on top of it with a Vacuum 750 Holley.... Mallory CD Box... Ols small cap dist. with Mopar electronic guts in the distributor.... went to the bone yard and got a set of 4.11 out of a bronco2 , and put those in the 7.5 housing (And everyone said it would blow up). put a cage in it... Took it to Irwindale and went 11.40-11.00..
Most of the junk we had here from over the years... But what a way to clean out the garage.... Raced it for 5 years and sold it.... I dont know how many we pissed off... But we kicked alot of but with that little rag muffin.....LOL

sayings my dad had.
1. "the faster you go the harder it is to go faster"
2. "it only takes cubic money to go fast"
3. "fix the cheapest and easiest parts first"

Thats the problem I am having now. Every time I take my Duster out for a cruise and I go up through Main st. I end up giving it a romp the tires break loose and you just cant get out of it to soon or it spoils the whole effect. Then I get thinking man what the hell are you doing your 56 not 18 untill the next urge gets the best of me.It's only a matter of time before I will be explaining myself to the judge and I will be hoping he to is a motor head and understands the need for speed and horsepower...Why do Dads have to be so smart.. Now that I are one I understand as my kids being dads also do. I guess we all understand we just want the best for our kids. And we dont want them to make the same mistakes we did.. My Dad wasn't around so I never learned, its my story and I'm sticking to it.LOL...Bill

Back in the early 90's we built a 505 B1 that cost over $40k to go in a tube car with a 4 link that cost $35K to build no telling how much spent getting used to the car & getting a decent # out of it (mid 8's 1/4 mile)

When my kids are all moved out

The motor gets a full rebuild with lower compression (Jesel belt broke @ 250+ runs)10 to 1 instead 14 to 1 & a fogger system

It's gonna go in this certified low mileage grandpa owned 85' D150

I used to go to the Original Irwindale Raceway (now a brewery) used to run my street car 66 Coronet Wed nights test & tune. One night The guy in the lane next to me flipped his Falcon wagon when the rear broke (welded? locker?)
