What the best mopar original motor?
I have some problems trying to find the right motor for my 63 fury, A 426 wedge or hemi is out of the budget. So i'm trying to go with the next best, i knwo 440 are great but is there any other motors that are just as good, i've been looking at a 392, a sonoramic commando and a 413 not wedge, any ideas? please help

I would tend to stay away from early hemi's because they aren't that plentiful, and performance parts can be expensive.
If you are going for the "factory" look, just about ANY big block Mopar will look at home in there, from a 383/400/413/426/440, all fit the same, pretty much. 413's and 426's are a little hard to find. Probably the most plentiful are 383/400's and don't cut them short. Even 400's have turned out to be good engines.
Also, once you get it together, if you run into something better, it just isn't that hard to swap something else in there, once it's set up for a B block.

If you find the engine you want, make sure it will run. If it is in a car, it must run and you need to hear it. If your unsure about what to expect, find a mechanic that is not associated with the party selling the engine and pay him to come with you and withness the engine running.
If the engine is out of the car, it still needs to run. Not much of a big deat to make that happen.
Do not buy a dead idle engine, the claims are many and the warranty will be nothing regardless of what they say. A cheap engine that has problems will be more expensive than a new shortblock from a overhauler. Your going to have to match up everything anyway, so why buy someones else's problem.
With a short block, nice and new you'll spend more up front, but no headackes and you can spend your hard earned money on a nice set of heads, intake and exhaust manifolds or headers and not be bothered with the rust crap that doesn't work or fit or is cracked from an acident.
