One of my biggest enjoyments was reading about the drag racing of the 60's in California. Much more how it evolved, and when a car reached 900hp, how much safer it would be to sit in the middle of that car. The Pespi Challenger was a tuff one, as well as the Blue Max Ford Mustang, with those air wings in front of the rear tires. It's always a new interest to me!
Great videos!

I'll have to say... Don Prudhomme and Raymond Beadle sure did show case some good racing for all of us to enjoy !!!
Living here in SO-CAL, Has been a experience of a life time of racing. Drag Racing has been my passion, but I do like other motor sports.
But being around drag racing has just had a wow factor. I have had the pleasure of working on so bad azz equipment in my past...
I at this point had suck a great time back in 1999-2000 working with guys to bring in the Nostalgic Drag Racing that we see today... Just a great group of family folks...
I miss being at the track and in the fab shop's

Last year when Shawn ran his stick car it was neat to watch people in the stands, watching cars sometimes not watching then when you heard the rpms going up and holding, everybody turned to watch. Just something different about a clutch car. My favourite class was always Modified Production, real race cars!
I like seeing the evaluation of prostock in the 70s, in 1970 they were super stockers with four speeds, big blocks and tunel rams and buy 73, tube chassis, Lenco transmissions and a lot of fiberglass parts.
Love the old stuff! Lion Strip was another great track. I remember reading about Jungle Jim in his Art Carr sponsored Chevy 2 screaming across the finish line above 160mph only to have his drag shoot fail to deploy sending him through a cow field. That Mel Rose Missile was great, but so was The Flying Dutchman. I was just reading about the 426 Wedge you could get in a D-100 in '64-'65 for an extra $1,800.00, making 365hp in a light truck was recalled when I seen that Little Red Wagon!
Great times those must have been!
