1970 b-5 blue dart - 225 4spd

it is a 70 dart. the drivetrain is a extremely hopped up 225, a-833 4spd od unit, and a 8.25 sure grip with 3:55's. the exterior is super striaght with faded original b-5 blue and a set of cragar s/s's. the interior has buckets out of a 95 neon, and some custom gauges. there is so much more i did to the car, but remembering it all...

have you ever run it at the track? the slant six racing scene has grown quite a bit in the last ten years. thats a cool project.

Nice Dart...I understand we moved about 15 months ago, and had our first baby in May 2008, i had no time for my projects. I sold all my unfinished projects and bought our '66 Belvedere in Nov. 2008, its not perfect but runs good and don't look to bad. We hope to drive the heck out of it

i never ran it on the track. the race shop that built the exhaust built a system for the engine and dyno tuned it. at the rear wheels it turned out 170hp with over 200ft/lbs of torque.

The 225 slant 6 motor can be built to stand up to a mild chevy 350. They make a lot of torque becuase all the pistons are working with eachother instead of 3 vs. 3.

Those are some pretty good numbers for it.

So when are we going to see a burnout pic? how about a pic of some 1/4 mile times? Or how about some pics of it driving on the road?

Just teasing.

That's funny about the wife. I just found my nuts and drug the roadrunner out of a 9 year storage. Dropped in a new 440 and new wheels/tires. She still doesn't know about any of it, other than the hours I have been putting into it(which doesn't go over so well either). But you are right about the the future paychecks burning holes. Found so much more I want to do now.

its all about picking and choosing your battles, hot rod got put to the side but truck was full steam ahead - when it comes to me modifying cars, its like that mash when radar was sending the jeep home one piece at a time...

after a lot of thinking, the upgrades are a go - in the planning stage now
emblems and moldings are getting shaved and the body will be shot in petty blue. probably keeping the vinyl roof, on a tight budget and i've been told there is a lot of body work to get the roof ready for paint. interior will be redone with new door panels, dash/gauges and having the rear seat recovered to match the front neon buckets.

You can always take it to a truck stop and have them weigh it. Also, any good drag strip should have a scale there, so you can weigh it there too. Thats what I plan on doing with the Valiant come this summer.

the more i thought about it, i just couldnt bring myself to get rid of it. already have so much into it, just a little more to be exactly where i want. the engine will be pulled, gone over once more and detailed - adding a noisy gear drive timing set - a buddy of a real good friend of mine, good tranny guy, will be going over the 833. new headliner, carpet and rear seat cover to match the neon buckets. all the dash pieces from a duster along with a custom gauge panel. i want one of those a-body ac kits, but ill wait for that. i am getting real excited about this...
