just to let you know i built this car....i am not one of those guys who just go out and buy and drive it.....i remember this car from high school auto shop.....my buddy got it as a graduation present in 1968....we wacked up the inner fenders and put on fenderwell headers.....2 yrs later he sold the car after he blew it up.....my other buddy bought it and just drag raced it.....it car now has 35,000 miles on it.....mostly quarter miles....i picked it up in 96 for 2500.00.....it was a basket case.....4 motors all apart in boxed....3 -883 trannys....2 rears,,8 3/4 and a dana 60 with 488 gears.....i slapped together the 383...half *** rebuild...rings bearings, mains and drove it around for about a yr....duct tape on the seat....went around to shows...looked around and said to myself....i gotta fix this car....i was going to do just allittle but completely tore it apart....i had a buddy spray it in my garage....i sewed the 2 new quarters on since the guy cut the lips and bent them up to fit bigger slicks on it...disstorted and had allittle rust.....new paint, interior, bumpers, disc brakes, new 426 indy stroker motor.....like new......that motor wasnt fast enough so i dropped in a half *** rebuilt by my 426 hemi....12.5-1 compression, tunnel ram with 2- 1250 dominators.....blew that up at the track.....couldnt take 8 grand....then went for my ***** with the 572 hemi which this time i had this guy in the pic build it for me......i bought all the parts and said here build it......non of this crate motor crap...and you dont know whats in the motor.....well thats my story and i am stickin to it

Beautiful car! Love that monster of a motor! I am a big believer in building your own motor also. When I bought my current ride in 2000,a '73 cuda with a 440,it didn't seem to be as quick as I thought it should have been. I spun a rod bearing one night at LVD and when tearing the motor down I found out who ever built this motor did a half a**ed job,the rings were on upside down!It was sealing on the second set! Half of the LY rods were bent. So if you want it done right, Build it yourself! Beside it's fun too.

it had 2- 3 inch holes right above the oil pan rails and where it came up through the top was no internal damage....had 10 bidders and the guy that won i asked him whats he going to do.....he said if he couldnt weld windows in he would use it as a mock-up block....cool
