My first Mopar - 1973 Dart Sport
Well, here it is ... my first Mopar. A 1973 Dodge Dart Sport with a 318. It's in great shape, just has a few needs. The motor is nice and loud, and unfortunately gutless. It is supposed to have a bit of a cam in it, but I'm not sure. It had a terrible vibration at lower rpm and I found it had the wrong torque converter. I replaced it with a 2500 stall converter and the vibration is gone. The torsion bars were cranked as far as they would go and it rode like a lumber wagon. I turned them down and it rides nicely now. It is, however, leaking oil now. The oil pan gasket is new but leaking and the headers are in the way. They will have to come down to access the pan. I am tempted to put up with the leaking this summer and replace the motor this winter. Since my phone doesn't seem to want to send pics, I will post the few I have.

I'm kind of **** about leaks. I don't like them. I am building a large garage in the back 40 and plan on installing a hoist. That will make it a little easier to work on. Still might wait and just put in a new motor this winter. Thinking of a 408 stroker maybe. I am open to ideas!
