My new Mopar!
Hey all, So I was out for a drive yesterday and came across another of my "FINDS" I just couldnt pass up. I bought a 1968 Fury III 2dr HT. NO RUST ANYWHERE!!! one tine ding in the passenger side that ive seen, any more will be determined after I pressure wash it. Someone replaced the drivers front fender at some point, but did a good job, other than the color I could tell.
Im assuming the motor is a 383, definatly a BB. Is there an easy way to tell 383 or 440? He says all the chrome and such is there in the trunk, and its a runner, going to pick it up Wednesday, Ill post up picks asap. Kinda excited about a no rust car. Needs a windshield and the seats put back in, but nice looker for what I paid, Ill keep ya updated.
Ohhh out on the same drive I came across a 1967-69 Dart 4 dr as well, looked straight, are they very desireable, or just junk because of the 4 dr? I love the body style but 4 dr isnt my thing, would it be worth picking up for a turn around? It looked real straight, no idea the engine yet, gotta go talk to the gal about it, stored in a dry barn, so im hopefull about not being rusted, ill keep ya posted on that, if i do buy it it will be up for sale SOON!

67 GTX said he tell them apart by looking at the top. Look at the casting numbers on the passenger side on the block.
Forget about the Dart being a 4dr. You only buy it if you plan on keeping it and making a cruiser out of it. They are not worth much.

you are right Tim
can you post a pic of the front of the block?
btw, is it a/c?
if you can't get a pic, try to get the casting numbers like Tim said
but, next to the distributor, to thr right of it, if there is a raise ractangular shaped cast, it is a 440
if not, if the lines follow the block, it is a 383

ok, ill post up some pics on wednesday when I get the car home. Also yes it is an A/C car. I ran the vin decoder on the car says its a 383 2 bbl, 2dr HT , Fast/High cost option. I didnt look so much at the engine when I bought it, I was more interested in the body being solid, and for the most part straight.
