Hey guys! Been on and off the forum throughout the last few years but hoping to be more active on here. I’ve my 77 dodge aspen “old yeller” for about 10 years (since I was 14) and it’s been a great project that’s taught me and my dad lots about building cars. I’ve been in the shop since I could walk and over the years watched my dad work on our daily drivers and his hot rods. When I first got my aspen the main focus was paint, wheels, interior and some odds and ends. That first stage of the project was finished up just at the start of my junior year in high school. Up until 3 years ago the car sported the original 318 2 barrel with the 904 and single spin axle. At that point is when I decided to swap in a 383 big block, 727 trans and a ford 8.8 axle! The big block has all forged internals with aluminum heads and currently has a 650 Holley on it for engine break in and once I get passed that phase I’ll either go to a Holley 850 or EFI setup. Right now the next phase of focus which is mainly the final one is my suspension setup, traction bars and maybe frame connectors. Still doing some research as to what company to with for the suspension parts. Thanks for checking out my ride and hope get to know some of y’all through your projects and cars!
Thanks man! It’s come a long ways that’s for sure lol learned a lot about fitment and that it pays to spend the money and order the right parts for the swap lol
