A/t for truck

BFG All-terrians are a waste of money. Yeah they work great, but you're spending money just for the name. I have had General Grabber A/T tires on two trucks now and they work just as great as the BFGs do and for a lot less money.

about how much a piece are they? I am Looking for a slightly bit larger tire for my power wagon ("80) maybe in a 16" size. What size would fit on the old trucks without lifting too much? I got the 235 75 r15 now. (sorry to high-jack the thread.)

With a 16" wheel, I'd go with a 245/75/16 as that will put you at ~30.4" tire. The wheelwells are fairly large on these trucks so you shouldn't have an issue. I know that when I picked up my 78 D200, there was a set of 33x12.5R15 tires on the back with 31x10.5R15 on the front.

What kind of off road driving are you going to be doing with your truck? I have had good experiances with the BFG allterrains. I dont know what people are talking about as far as expensive...There prices were alot cheaper than most other brands. They work good in rocks, great in sand, not so good in mud and they are quiet on the street.

Here are two links showing that BFG AT tires are more expensive than General Grabber AT tires. Same tread design too. I have run both off-road and on-road and saw no difference in performance.

i love my bfg all terrains....ride nice and quiet, handle well and have great traction in the snow and off road...i shopped around before i got these, if you have a discount tire near you you might be able to get them on a promo sale....i got 75 bucks off when i bought 4.

You may be able to get a cheaper tire by going with the General Tire but I dont have any experiance with those. I am also in a 4 wheel drive club and I have used BFG with great success. On my Jeep Wrangler I used a BFG mud terrain which I really liked, I used BFG All terrain which I liked but did not do that great in the rocks, I used a Dunlop Mud Rover which for a cheaper tire really worked great in the rocks. I went to a pro comp mud terrain and those work really good in the rocks also. All were in the 35 x 12.5 r 15 size. My preference for the wrangler is the Mud terrains but I like the all terrains on my Grand Cherokee in the ice, snow, and light 4wheelin. I know other tires work but that is what I have experience with.
