whiten up white walls

any ideas to brighten up old yellow white walls. Ive tried everything including very strong bleach. It seems as though the white rubber cannot be penetrated.

I asked about age because tires have a lifecycle in years also not just tread wear.

Thanks for the replies. The tires are 255 - 70 - 15
Not a size you will find with whites anymore. I will try the paint - good ideas

I remember years ago when my dad was cleaning our old car he would use an SOS pad on the white walls of his tires and they would brighten up greatly. I would assume you can only do this so many times before they are junk but it worked good from what I remember.
