1970 Challenger tail lights problem
hi i am new to all this, i have been reading a couple of threads on here and they do help. im 18 years old and my Dad is a owner of 2 1970 challengers. one is a orange hardtop 440 sixpack 4 speed and the other is a red convertible 318 auto trans. right now the hardtop is being restorated on a rotisserie getting painted and the other is just sitting. i felt the need to fire the convertible up and just play with it.
My question today is my tail lights are flashing all the time right when i connect the battery. why is this? it seems to be the hazard lights but when you look at the dash it reads im indicating to turn left only.
another problem is that my key wont turn to the off position. its stuck on battery position and wont come out
please need some advise thank you

First thing to do is determine what is causing this
Could be a wiring/ tail light harness problem
Could be a stuck / failed stop light switch.
Could be a bad turn signal switch, which also contains the 4x flasher switch, or switch left on as mentioned above
Don't these have a reverse lockout? IE you have to have the trans in park or stick in reverse to lock the column?
