1976 dodge w100 with a cummins???

Does anyone know if you can put a 6bt cummins in a 1976 dodge w100? I would be transfering the cummins from a 1989 dodge ram250. I was planing, if it was possible, on taking the axles, engine, trany, and other parts from the 1989 dodge and transplanting it into the 1976. Wondering if anyone out there did such a thing or knows if it can be done? Thanks!!!

im sure it can be done as they are very similar. The only thing I would be woried about is the strength of the '76 frame rails as compared to the 89 250 cummins equipped. I would at least compare the two for thickness and dimensions. If you can use the newer fralmerails that would work. That cummins engine makes a ton of torque. You dint want to twist the frame.

That would be a cool swap. X2 on measuring the frame though. last thing you want to do is get it in there and break something.
