2x 4-2 headers? It is possible?

Hi!
I wonder if somewhere in world exist headers in 4 into 2 arrangement (or 8 into 4). On Internet I've found only 4 to 1 or 4 to 2 to 1 setup.
I think that 4-2 arrangement will be better for power, especially when you plan to have 4 exhaust mufflers (maybe sidepipes) in 74 Charger with 440.

If your handy with a welder you could get some pre bent tube and some flanges and fab up your own. Jegs sells kits. As far as whats it is going to do to power I don't know. If you wanted to run side pipes I would buy a set of 4 into one and H pipe it and then turn them out!

I agree with Bullalojoe.... Get a kit and weld up what you want... In the racecars we have to make almost all of our headers and collectors... Buy the bend kits and start cutting and fitting.... Some are quite easy and some are quite tuff... The guy that does mine had 20 hours on a single tube on a BB in an A body.... But it can be done... Just make sure to get them miged and coated before you use them and you will not have any problems.... Oh, on the coating go with Nitro Plate in Nashville Tenn.. Great people to work with and the finish is second to none....

OK, I curious - what kind of an advantage would that be over a std 4 to 1 with an X pipe? I'm talking real world performance, not theoretical HP. Just wondering if it would be worth the bother.

I've been just curious if someone is known with this setup. I think it won't make any difference unless you have giant hp engine (much over 1000hp) It is better to have 2 cylinders put into same large pipe instead of 4.
But this my hypothesize. If there is any practical advantage for 4 into 2 setup, then it will be on market

Mike -

You might have a bigger issue to think about. 440's and B-bodies are known for a lack of clearance. I'm running 1 7/8" primaries on old style Hookers on a 74 Charger and it's pretty tight plug and plug wire wise. (I did a thread on that a while back. Stubby Accel plugs and tube heat shields around the boots solved the problem.) The best I've personally seen so far are 1 3/4" Hedman headers.

I agree with Archer on the clearance issues, I have plenty of space now but I paid for that with the Schumacher headers (Take a look at my pics in my thread on the B-Body section).

They have split headers out there not sure if they have them for the 440s, but the straight six I have in my jeep has split headers, first three cylinders one pipe, next three second. You probably would have to fab it yourself with one of those aftermarket do it yourself header kits.
