Schumachers has /6 to small block conversion mounts. I am not sure if they are any cheaper than Year One, but you could look them up at http://www.engine-swaps.com

I have a 71 dart. i got it last july for $1000. it was inspected and needed nothing; ready to drive. Its not much, it's had alot of body work done to it, but the under side looks like its always been undercoated, so the unibody is pretty solid. it had 81,000 miles on it when i got it. it's not fast, but it's in pretty good shape for something that was an everyday driver for 35 years. like i said, it's no show car, but i'm only 20 years old, and i'm the only one my age i know of with a clasic car. and i've always wanted to restore a car since i was a little kid, i've loved cars eversince i was a toddler. Soooo anyway.....if anyone can give me any knowledge on this 360 or 318(havent bought an engine just yet)swap from what drive shaft, or yoke i might need, to what rear end will handle an 8cyl, to what's compatible and whats not in general, i would greatly appreciate it.

That is a pretty sweet looking ride for a grand! As far as bang for the buck, I'd go with the 360. It'll make more horses and more torque for less money than it would take to build a 318 to similar specs. You can buy a crate motor that puts out 390 horses and about 410 ft/lbs of torque for about 5 grand.
As far as trannys go, a 727 Torqueflite is the way to go if you want to stick with an automatic. They are pretty much bulletproof, when properly built. Of course, with that much torque you will want to go with an 8 3/4 inch rearend.
If you desire something a little tamer, you could go with a 360 rated at 320 horses, a 904 torqueflite, and an 8 1/4 inch rear end. The 8 1/4 is far easier to find and will be cheaper to boot.

904 is plenty for a street driven small block. does your car have a 7 1/4 rear? if it does you should get an 8 1/4- there are lots of them available and gears, rebuild kits, trak loks, etc. are all made for this rear in the aftermarket. if you can get a 360 for the same coin as a 318, then i agree get the bigger cubes. you can build a stout 318 though so it doesn't have to be a 360. crate engines are pretty expensive, you can do better for less $.
