4.10 gears question

4.10 gears question

ok so i am wondering if i find a jeep with a chrysler 8.25 with like 4.10 gears if i could pull the gears and put them in my cordobas 8.25? or wont they fit or what?

Good luck finding a jeep (late model cherokees and some libertys) with gears that low unless someone swapped them in. I think they went as low as 3.55, maybe 3.92 if it had a tow package. Gearing that low on the street would need 33" tall tires in those vehicles.

If i am not mistaken they should fit right in. I pulled my cover on my 77 cordoba and it was just like looking at the diffs that i see daily in the dodges and the liberties I am curious why you want that low of gears i was always under the impresion that those are good for off roading.

They are also great if you want to run a hgher RPM down the strip.

Even the Dakotas with the V6 and only got 3.92 gears at the lowest. They should swap right in though as the housings will be the same, its just the axles tubes that will differ. You might have to swap spider gears in the carrier if the axle shaft spline counts are different.
