i converted my dart a few years ago...
easiest way is to find a junkyard with the complete assembly.
2 points that are important
-pilot bushing, most automatic cars are drilled but not machined correctly
mopar part 53009180AB is the solution, it is a large needle bearing that fits in the large crank register
-frams side z-bar mounting point
that is addressed here

here is the a-body run through, similar in most regards

All of the parts, linkage, bell, flywheel, etc from a 383 should fit a 440 BUT be sure you check the flywheel compatability---some 440's are "externally balanced" and need a flywheel to match.
The other big problem MAY be that some BB cranks are not bored at all, and some are not "finished bored" for the pilot bushing. If you buy a stock bushing and cant get it in, and or can't get the four speed completedly seated on the bell, you probably have an "unfinished" pilot hole. You used to be able to buy undersized pilots, and some of us cut off 3/8-1/2 or so off the fours speed shaft. Your alternative is to have the hole bored.
Also, someone(s) makes a "conversion" pilot that fits the "large" hole in the crank, but I'm not familiar with these.
BE SURE you check the balance situation on your engine.

all 440s were steel cranks and drilled till 1972, so if its pre 72 youre alright, if not, then cut 1/4 inch off the end of the input shaft, anymore then that and the end of the shaft wont have anything to keep it centered itll waller around under load and tear the clutch setup out. ive seen it happen.
