Wondering whether it's easier to lower the tank or raise the truck bed?

Ordered parts from LMC trucks... they're coming Monday...got a new sending unit, o-ring lock ring, and filler neck grommet... At this point I feel I need to drop the tank because fuel has been leaking on it for so long... It needs to be pulled out, cleaned straps wire brushed and spray painted along with the surrounding areas of the frame & undercarriage. I try to do things right... I don't like to half-*** stuff I'm sure you know what I mean
I could barely get my camera phone in there no way I can get my hands in there to work on that stuff cuz I'm not sure where it's leaking from...

A good way to lift the bed if you decide to do it that way is to use a engine lift, use two chains going from corners of the bed box pockets in a crisscross and hook it in the middle with the hoist. It works great and gives you mobility with the box. I had a small body shop for years and this is the only way we handled pickup boxes.
good luck

After you get the tank out, then you can hunt for the leak on the tank.... If its not obvious then you may need to fill it with water and check the plastic tank for cracks or seem leaks.

Fuel tank is cracked

Anybody have any insight on where to get another tank? I've searched around and I can't seem to find any place that sells a tank for my Dodge d250 318 cubic inches long bed... I believe it's a 30 gallon tank not really picky if I could find an aftermarket or universal tank that'll work that would be great because OEM tanks are available for the 2/4 wheel drive d series half ton pickups but can't seem to find any for 3/4 ton
