Question 92 5 speed 150 dodge truck

Looking into a 1992 150 dodge truck. 4X4 5 speed... Just trying to find myself a beater for the weekends. The owner claims a squeaky pilot bearing is the only issue...This is after pulling the engine to replace the clutch? Says all parts are new..clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bearing. Thinks he installed the pilot incorrectly causing the noise... any recommendations? should i buy and fix.. or not even chance it?

I'd think he just didn't replace it correctly or the problem is somewhere else.
X2.

see if you can take it for a test drive and listen to where the noise is coming from.

if it is a pilot bushing, you could remove it and install mopar# 53009180AB.
this is a roller type bearing that installs in the large register in the crank instead of the small machined hole.

It's a pretty good case. Strong and relaible, even for a chain driven t-case. It's a full time case that can be converted to part time too.
