98 Chrysler Cirrus Leaking oil

Just purchased a 98 Cirrus - for only $1000 with 89K miles on it
It is leaking oil towards front and a little towards left - near front tire.
What are the odds of this being the rear main seal, or could it be the oil pan gasket? Or any others?
If rear main seal, where would I see the oil leaking? ANd if so, what does it cost to get this repaired?
Should I just start with replacing the oil pan gasket first and change the oil and see if it stops?
Thanks for any feedback
