Anyone regularly running Methanol or Ethanol?
Hey
Hoping for some advice/ experience re Ethanol especially, but I figure Meth is more common and better chance re that...
My engine needs a fair tidy-up - so while it's open (as I'm heading for Ethanol anyway, I may as well begin setting it up for that (cylinder liners, combustion chamber coated, etc.
I understand Eth reacts with carbon - so iron is pretty much a no-go - from what I can see, it sounds as though stainless steel is the best (though not Best) material to use - with low carbon content and since anything more exotic is either too expensive or actually reacts worse than iron.
I'm especially interested in any advice re: carb.
If anyone has worked with Ethanol then all-good, but I'm assuming Methanol is similar enough in behaviour that I can apply that too...
Any input very much appreciated!
