Ball Joints 76 Dodge Dart

So my haynes manual says the lower ball joints get bolted in as part of the steering knuckle. simple enough.

Are the uppers threaded in or pushed in? If they're threaded, I might as well take them to a machine shop instead of buying a socket. Anyone know?

If mopar didn't change anything, they should be threaded. Unless you have the socket, taking it somewhere would probably be the best bet.

Guys sorry for the retarded questions....What is the proper procedure for replacing the lower ball joint? Do I have to relieve the tension on the torsion bar first?

No dumb questions. Yes, support at crossmember first and let suspension sag then back off bolt. Count the number of turns to get it back to same height when done. Much easier to turn bolt with weight off.

DONE. Man, that was a pain in the ***! Took an hour of hammering for EACH ball joint to pop them out of the knuckle. God damn. Alignment tomorrow!
