Cylinder liners

I have a 340 that has two sleeves. This motor sat for about twenty years without being turned. I had to pound the pistons out of the block. The guy @ the machine shop called me and said there is some pitting in all cylinders and wants to know if he can bore the liners. I am not sure how much. What's the verdict? Should I go ahead and have him bore it .010 and hopefully that will be enough.

Also, does anyone know where I can buy liners if I need to.

Thanks

I've never been a big fan of cylinder liners. I would have him do some measuring and see what is teh most he would have to bore the cylinders out so that you don't have to run them.

Do you think I could take .010 out of liner or would it compromise the cylinder? All cylinders measured at 4.042 to 4.044.

I also have a 318 block. What is maximum bore that I could go on this block?

depends on the yr of 318.. the (A) wide block can go up to .90 over. (LA) some .40 some .60 i wouldnt think .10 over would hurt with sleeves
