Dana 60 Powerlock side gear upgrade

Does anyone know if you can swap out 23 spline side gears on a 70's Dana 60 Powerlock with 30 or 35 spline side gears? I've heard that the carrier case halves might not have a large enough diameter hole to accept the larger 35 spline (or even 30 spline) axles and side gears. Would the 4 pinion mate gears and clutch rings have to be replaced also? Any help would be appreciated.

Finally found a guy who's done a lot of Danas and he said it's an easy swap - just change out the gears.

That is what I was thinking but did not know if there were any differences between the all the D60s.

Just found out that the clutch rings are the same so I can use the old ones. Actually Dana 60 and Dana 70 Powerloks both use the same spider gears. And I think all you can interchange parts on older Dana 60 Powerloks with later models.

I know that most, if not all, rear D70 axles are 35 spline but I thought that the side gears inside the carrier were larger than the ones in the D60s.
