dye for fabrics?

dye for fabrics?

Is there such a thing out there as a dye that you can use to color a fabric back to/close to the original color so that you wouldn't have to get it reupholstered?

RIT Fabric dye available at the bigger grocery stores. It works and doesn't come off.

my wife did couch cushion covers with the rit dye - ran it through the washer with a certain amount of salt. came out great.

I'll look into the RIT dye then. I'm sure that if it will work, it would be easier, or at least cheaper, than getting the seat redone.
