HELP Unexplained Stall D150
I have a 1986 Chrysler D150 two wheel drive, 1/2 ton pickup with a 318. The truck has a Holley 2280 carb and is bone stock.
I have had three instances where, when making a right turn, the truck stalls. Two of these have been on flat roads when accelerating from a stop. The other happened when I was going down a small hill, decelerating, and merging from one road onto another.
Fluid levels are all accurate, tire pressure is good, and the truck starts right up afterwards. The truck is running well, but it is a little lean right now.

I agree, sounds like carb. I have a 75 W200 with a 360 that originally had a 2 bbl with the same problem. I had the carb rebuilt for $150 back in the late 90's. I have since moved on to a 4 bbl. You could try running several tanks with fuel stabilizer in it (sta-bil) and try cleaning as much of the throat of your carb with a carb cleaner as you can. Sometimes this may dislodge any gum deposits that are either occluding a jet or causing the needle and seat to not seal properly. I did this for a friends carb on a truck he couldn't keep running and he managed to avoid the carb rebuild. However, I recommend the rebuild as this doesn't always work.
