Has anybody ran the Mopar mini express .654" / 286 @ .050 mushroom lifter cam?
I've been offered the cam & lifter package to run in my 383 , the plan is to buzz this thing to 8500 to make some real power using my ez heads. I know it's not a good package for my car but hell it'll be great to feel that mid to top end power.

 

Offered? Like for free? If it's new and free, I would say it's the perfect cam. Put it in, wing the **** out of it, and post a video.

 

Yeah new & free. But nothing is free i'll need to strip the engine & may have to grind .001 off the crank. + other things like notching the bores even more . probably titanium retainers. It'll be a wild ride though.

 

My first thoughts are enough compression? Then strong enough springs, rods and rockers.

The little angel on one shoulder says well maybe too much and should do this or that.

The Hotrod angel on my other shoulder says "HELLS YEAH!"

 

We have the same angels . my sensible angel tells me to stick to original plan & get it on the road. Cause if it does brake I don't have the to fix it. But it is hard to resist the peer presure. It's kinda like my racing junkie mates are all giving me a little to keep me addicted to the racing drug. It's even worse knowing the main hemi - Mopar man around here is doing a lot for me even giving me the cam & lifters & heaps of advise . but I know better , I wanta wriggle out of it . just because I know it will never end.
