I think if an antifreeze is sold as one of those 50/50 mixes,
then it has to say so clearly on the bottle..

Winter's pretty much over, you can run a 15% Antifreeze / 85% water mix
for better cooling (this applies to older cars that use regular green-colored antifreeze -
i have no idea about cars that dont use that type or use the orange stuff)
Just remember to swap over to a 50/50 mix for the winter.
older cars only need 15-20% Antifreeze for corrosion protection,
and plain old water is a far better coolant than antifreeze..
your car will run about 20 degrees cooler.
don't beleive me? Look it up lol

one of my friends has an 04 ford focus zx2 or something like that. on top of the radiator support it has a sticker that says mopar antifreeze on it and the mix ratios. his grandmother bought the car brand new and this sticker was on it from the factory

so what you are saying is that ford secretly wants to be a mopar? NICE!

I have always bought the 100% anitfreeze and mixed it up myself 50/50. never have had a problem. Becareful though as some mopars came factory with a different color antifreeze, I think starting in 2002.

It must say 50/50 if it has the water but I've read that the mopar antifreeze/coolant is extremely good quality. Probably better than the other big name brands. Like Polara 68 said, you can get away with running a small percentage of antifreeze in the summer.

The water is the one that gets rid of most of the heat from the motor. THe anitfreeze is there to keep it from freezing (no brainer there) and to help lubicate the waterpump as the motor is spinning.

I agree that Mopar anitfreeze is really good stuff. I wouldn't use anything else minus Peak.

I talked to a guy that runs a rad repairand recore shop, he told me the best thing hes found over the years is a 50/50 mix and to use distilled warter, this cuts the sorrosion out, since theres litle iron or calcium in it. Ive done this since talking to him in late 80`s, and every time I change the antifreeze in my mopes, after 2-3 yrs, its still green and has very little rust content in the wash out.

Just in case you guys didn't know there are only 3 companies that make antifreeze, all the other brands add stuff or change the mixture and put their name on it.

yeah you would be surprised how many fluids and parts are made by the same company. Advance auto parts oil is actually the same as some major manufacturer but at 2/3 the price. i forgot what he said it was though.
