Odd Brake Pedal?

Hello all! Here is my MOPAR. It is a 75 Dart custom made into a hearse. It is 1 of a kind. Tons of custom work on it. It was already like this when I bought it. As there is so much on this car that is not original, I have a question. My brake pedal is way to low to make contact with my brake light switch. I have to have it budgied up really high in order to contact it. This can't be right. I had heard that the brake pedals had a plate on them that made contact with the switch. Is this true? Would I be safe in assuming the pedal isn't original? I was thinking of just jimmy rigging it by making a plate for it myself. Thoughts?

I'm With Lynn... Kind of need a photo of what your dealing with....
Might be as simple as using a longer switch?

Cool looking ride.... We have an event here in SO-CAl for those dead mobiles... Very cool event....
