I bought a 1973 440 truck motor, its all stock never touched. i would like to build the motor to about 425 rwhp. Any thoughts on what i can do to achieve this?

 

I would hit up 440source.com and see what they have. What tranny are you going to have behind the motor? 425 RWHP is very achievable with a 440.

 

What are you looking to do with this truck motor. Is it going in a light car, heavy car, truck?

put your money in the HEADS thats where the biggest bang for your buck is ... check other Mopar site also for some deals and info ....for (a/b) bodiesonly good start besides here for the info you'll need ...take your time gathering information and do it right the first time a lot less expensive

 

my intentions are to put a 4 speed behind it. I sold a 69 charger 3 years ago to a guy in Canada and i've been kicking myself everyday since. I plan on buying another 69 that is a solid project, but i want to have the motor ready for when i do this. I know the heads mean alot but i would like to get a good combination of pistons, cam, valves, heads and any type machine work etc. that would work together so i can take the guess work out of this rebuild. BTW i've never rebuilt a motor but i know i can do this i'm pretty mechanical sound.
