Ride Height
I have a 1970 Coronet that currently has larger than stock tires on it installed by the previous owner. The tail end sticks up pretty high but i was wanting to put some new wheels and low profile tires on it. Can anyone tell me how to go about finding a way to stick 18s, or possibly a 20 in the rear and an 18 up front. Im not really wanting to mini-tub and can afford to bag it. But i want to tuck the tires up in the wheel wells and considerably drop the ride height. I dont know much about suspension systems ect so I thought i might see if any one has some tips or can point me in the right direction.

just basic shocks to my knowledge, i was gonna put air shocks in the rear in place of the current basic ones that the previous owner put on it. It had traction bars that hang down pretty low but im more than willing to remove those and figure something else out in order to lower the ride height to where i would like it.

You'll have to do some measuring to figure out how wide you can go. One want to drop the front end is to crank down the torsion bars. this will give you some down travel but limit your up travel. as for the rear, you'll have to add blocks or change out the leafs and/or the shackles. You'll want to make sure that you don't lower it to far so that the axle hits the body either.

That looks hotter than MonteCarloChick (sorry Nichole) just the way it is! The car has a great stance the way it is. Are you sure that you want to add 18s and 20s? (it is your car so only you can deside what to do with it)
