running light but no brake light?
hey everyone i have an issue my running lights work but the drivers side brake light wont. have changed the buld and still nothing i drive a 65 300 any ideas?

Check the ground. Attach a wire to a good ground and then attach it to the bulb socket. If you have a test light, you can check for power at the brake light. Does the turn signal work?

If the signal lamp on both sides works, but one or both brake light does NOT, it is in the column signal switch.
Get into the kick panel, see where the rear harness comes up into the kick panel from the sill, and follow it to a connector. Probe that connector with your test lamp. Use a wiring diagram to find the left and right signal lamps. Check both left and right signal, and then check them both for power with brake pedal depressed.
If one side has power and the other does not, it is the signal switch

It appears to me that tail lamps should be black
left and right turn are brown and dark green

OK its the turn signal switch! i tried to replace the cancel cam over the weekend but the replacement i have isn't quite right so i must have knocked something out of whack. does any body know where i can get the correct cancel cam?
