I hope it's OK that I am a Ford owner on a Mopar forum but I am in need of some assistance as I try to rebuild the Mopar steering/suspension IFS swap in my 1950 Ford F1. I don't know what the donor car was and am having a hard time determining how to source replacement components. I have googled and looked for pictures that match what I have but figured if I came to the experts I might have better luck. A friend of mine said I have a Frankenstein set up because the the subframe/K-frame looks custom but he said the rest of the set up definitely is Mopar. I have longitudinal torsion bars, the strut bars attach to the top of the lower control arms and the tie rod adjusting sleeves I believe are 11/16" if it helps. Pics attached as well.
Thanks in advance, Greg engine crossmember strut rod view from rear upper control arm tie rod adjusting sleeve
Thanks Bob! This thing sure has me perplexed. I see we are neighbors... I am in Altadena!
Nice Greg!!! I use to live in Altadena many moons ago.... 505 E. Altadena Drive... Rite near Christmas Tree Lane...
Not sure who you are using for parts. But Dave down at Allied Auto Parts is always a good help. He has lots of books and is a cool Hot Rod guy.
Maybe he could source you some parts? If needed.
Note: look at this build... Scroll down to the suspension and you can see it looks close to your parts.... May have to take some measurements and photos with you when looking for parts...

By the way.... I just love the 1950 Ford F1 pickup's.... Good Looking truck....

Small world! I will check out Allied for sure. I picked up the Truck because my 67 Mustang Fastback was getting lonely in my garage! She's my daily driver, the truck will just be a weekend cruiser so really trying to be wise with where I put my money! Have a great weekend Bob and thanks again!
