Plug repair
It's posible to repair. Use an insert type. Removing filings will be a challange. best to remove the head ('s) and have a machine shop perform the job.

you can do it on the car as mentioned above it is better to remove the head and have a thread insert installed. If you do it on the car metal shavings will fall into the cylinder..You can catch some by keeping grease on the end of your tap but too risky for a car like that.

Depends on how far you went. There are specific "spark-plug thread chaser/cleaners" out there. If you just boogered-up the first few threads, then I say the chance of success with one of these is pretty good! http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...u=00947321000P Btw, when I googled this, there were dozens of thread repair tips. "spark plug repair" I did this once on a girlfriends 2.2 Omni. This tool allowed me to "save face" and fix it cheap and easy. Kinda like the girlfriend! HAHA!
