Tips / Watch Outs wanted for assembling a small block (360)

I may be putting my 360 back together myself.

Having had limited experience with V8s prior to this, can people please tell me any real life tips/ tricks/ watch outs (especially)/ warnings for assembling the following items:

1) Bearings (Main/Rod/Cam)
2) Pistons
3) Rings
4) Crank
5) Caps
6) Seals

And anything else you think may be relevant. Thanks in advance.

Just like any other motor man nice and clean & well lubed, nothing weird with them LA motors they pretty basic

There is a book out there that can be had at any decent book store that explains everything you need to know about testing, tear down, inspection, cleaning, and rebuilding Mopar small blocks. If I come across it, i'll post it up.

make sure your oil pump is seated fully not cocked at a angle also if putting it in a car make sure you have a center sump oil pan with correct oil pickup tube

Its been said before but you just can't get it too clean!!!!! I've seen bearings look like trash in one dyno pull from trash going thru them..... Clean, clean, clean......

...and when your done cleaning it .... clean it again dirt is the killer!!!

put rubber hoses on the rod bolts so you don't scratch the bores when putting them in

or the crank.. and i shouldnt need to say this but i seen it done dont oil the back side of the bearing. also easy on the permatex. what squishes out side of the oilpan/valve covers or whatever you use it on also squishes inside,,i pulled apart failed engines that the oil pump screen was clogged due to permatex,
