So my dad has been more awesome the past week than the past 17 years and 10 months of my life.
He's finally come to terms that I won't go buy my camaro back and join the family Chevrolet tradition.
So his buddy at work was selling an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold.
And he bought it for me ( I think to prevent me from buying a 6 pack and never having gas.)
Anyway I have a few questions being i have a 2 barrel on my 383 now.
First for my engine about 650 CFM should be good right?
Not gunna drown my engine but it should feed it plenty i believe.
And then I think im going to have to upgrade my fuel pump too correct?
If thats all i just gotta do some shopping and than set it up.

650 sounds good. I have a 750, but I also have a cam and headers. Are you using a vacuum secondary? Wouldnt worry about the fuel pump till you have a problem. Budget some time and money for linkage issues. The factory linkage doesnt like the height of the RPM intakes.
Yeah i planed on vacuum secondary. I figured since im not working anymore and i have the money saved up i can now afford the down time for swapping my intake and tackling all the linkage problems.

Good carb deals to be found on Craigslist. Lotsa people give up on tuning and just buy another carb. Buy a "How to Tune a ......" book for whatever carb you get. It will be a well spent $20. It'll give you a good understanding of the big-picture.
try mancini racing:they have setup just for the 383.
choke? my car don't need no stinking choke! but you might be better off with a electric one. just my .02 oops! inflation. just my dimes worth.

Electric choke is ok but a manual choke is better if you know how to use it. If you can get away with no choke that would be the best. My old Belvedere had no choke.
If it got cold (In Florida??) I would just pump it a few times and idle it up for a few minutes. Then go.

Electric choke is more reliable, but manual choke is easier to install. The thing is, if anyone else was to drive your car, they have to know how to work with it. Either way, use a choke so you dont end up burning up a starter
If you decide on no choke don't sweat it.Just pump the gas 2-3 times and it will start right up keep the revs up for a few seconds depending on air temp.
my 440 cuda never had a choke in the ten years I've owned it.Still has the same starter. just my .02 worth.
I'm in Brisbane Australia I'd say our weather would be similar to Florida . we have no problems with running no chokes . but i always warm my car up before i drive it . i have know idea about snowy climates though .
