Thumbs up Vinyl Top Question

I am wondering what other people do for maintaining their vinyl tops? (sun protection etc) Armor All is the big advertiser but I have heard it actually dries them out faster?

Guess the first thing is to make sure it's really clean. Ragtop makes a cleaner that's pretty decent, but I recently tried the vinyl cleaner from Griot's Garage and I gotta tell ya, that stuff really worked.

For conditioning, I have the Ragtop vinyl condiitoner, but haven't used it yet. Since the Charger is a "sunday" driver, I really haven't worried about it.

Not sure I like the looks of the Armor-all finsih.

i just make sure it is clean
since my car is garaged, the waeather never beats on the vinyl roof, so it will be less prone to wear

Mine isn't in the sun all the time but when I am at car shows or out in for the weekend I feel like I can see it drying out. It is also really old and I want to keep it as long as possible without redoing it.

I got dart that was garaged for 30 years. Got it about 10 years ago and used armor all on it. Just last year i noticed what a few years of armor all will do to those old tops. Maybe the new vinyl top material is a little more tolerant to it but I wouldn't recommend for a vinyl top that is forty years old. Mine started to dry out and shrink causing stress cracks all over the top.
