I believe the book says 5 imperial quarts, so 6 US quarts would be correct?

Some have a large oil pan, so yes it would be 6 Quarts.. But it could have the smaller pan on it??? ..... I would put 5 Quarts with the oil filter on... Start the truck and let it build pressure... turn it off and let it sit for 2 minutes and check the oil level... if its at the full mark, your good to go with the 5 Quarts... if its not at the full make on the dip stick, then add the extra Quart and that should do it..... That way you will know for sure what amount it will take from now on.

Cheers

another question...i was planning to do fluid changes and was wondering if i got this right:
np435 transmission- Do i need a gl4 for this trans? or can i just use a gl5 gear oil like the lucas 80w90, or go for amsoil manual trans 75w90?
np205 t-case and dana 44 front 60 rear- GL5 80w90? maybe lucas 80w90 gear oil? or amsoil severe gear 75w-90 ?

im in Canada and it gets pretty cold here from -30 celsius in winter to +30 in summer if that helps..
thanks!
