2025 Ram RHO burned up catalytic converters and O2 sensors

I bought a 2025 Ram RHO from Mark Doge Ram and after 350 miles both catalytic converters and O2 sensors burned up. Truck has been at a dealership in Texas for 26 days and still waiting. Mark Doge called them and said it was a ground wire and after checking that isn’t the problem. Any ideas on why they burned up and how to keep it from happening again? Not getting good support on troubleshooting the problem.

Sorry to hear that. Certain knowns affect converters and sensors. High zinc oils can damage a converter. A service technician who thought he was doing a good thing by using diesel oil with high zinc in a fleet of gas-powered Ford Crown Victorias ended up costing the city in catalytic converter and O2 sensor repairs. The 5.7 engine calls for premium fuel if that's what you have. Low octane wouldn't be suitable for that application.

Call Chrysler customer services and file a complaint… Ask them to look into the issues… also tell them if they can’t fix the truck you would like to have them replace the truck as soon as possible and you need a loaner truck until the replacement shows up..

I called Chrysler 2 weeks ago and the dealership in Texas submitted a Star request at the same time. Chrysler just keeps telling me they are waiting on the engineer to look at the truck and has no date when it will happen.

I should read a little closer next time. I missed the part that it just has only 350 miles on it. With my wife's Jeep I began contacting Chrysler with a shudder in the transmission and kept a log of times, dates and who I spoke to. I ended up in court and won. Document everything.

I agree with Bob, the first thing I thought of was the Lemon Law. I’d say there’s something wacky in the fuel system and or computer system. It’s probably running way to lean, I guess it could also be bad O2 sensors or the computer system again.
Good luck but I’d start mentioning the lemon law when you talk to them it might help with motivation on there end.

One other thing come to mind.... Get with the Service Manager and ask who the Local dealer Service Representative is? Or ask the Customer service people who that person is... ASk him for a meeting at the dealership with the service manager... and possibly the owner of the dealership....
This will help to put everyone on the same page... Write down your concerns and present it at your meeting and write it all down... I am sure you paid good money for a truck you have not been able to enjoy... Good Luck... Hope some of this helps? Keep us posted on how things are moving along...

Back in 89 I had a new V6 Dakota 4x4 pick up that had more new car bugs than I can remember, rear main oil leak. strarter, the truck was at the dealer thirteen times because the AC didn’t work, I swear they replaced every part in the system one at a time until it was fixed, a the most irritating thing was a squeak in the transmission mount to crossmember that they couldn’t fix whatsoever. Chrysler rep Road in the truck agreed there was a squeak, but couldn’t decide what to do with it. Finly I took a piece of new nylon strip, made a spacer between the metal pieces and took care of it. At 12,000 miles I traded it for a new Ford. The dealer was giving me a good break on direct connection parts so I didn’t make a stink, I just bought a Ford.
