245/265??
Hey guys just recently Ive aquired a 76 centura. Im only 16 so at the moment I'm just looking for realiability.Currently its running a 245 auto just wondering if its worth changing to the 3spd man with 265 or put a power shifter in the auto?

Not sure what a power shift is (maybe a shift kit?) but if you have a running motor and tranny right now, I'd leave it. Keep the 265 and 3spd as a backup incase anything were to happen to the current drivetrain.

I think I'd stay with the 245 and look into multi-carb intake manifolds and exhaust improvements unless you know there is a larger cam in the 265.
As far as firmer shifts in the auto the rear axle ratio and U-joint size will determine what level to install. ie Towing, HP, Race if they have choices in the kit your planning on getting. All that said, I think it would be worth it.
When you start, do one improvement at a time so if there are any problems your only chasing one. Too many at once can get frustrating and you don't really know which one thing actually made the improvement.
